Crafting Experience Together
At NTU Development, we believe that appreciation in value and value-add investments are not synonymous with gentrification. Growth doesn’t have to displace — it can empower.
We believe that through homeownership and financial education, individuals and families can build pride, stability, and long-term wealth and well-being within their communities.
We also believe that the sustainability and strength of every community rest on its people — on their ownership, investment, and commitment to the places they call home.
The Founder
NTU Development was born out of necessity — and built from the ground up on perseverance, purpose, and people.
I was not born into financial independence or wealth. My parents were blue-collar workers in Miami, Florida — my father an electrician, my mother a call center technician. When I was 12, my mother became disabled, and not long after, my father lost his job during the Great Recession and suffered a stroke. Watching our family’s livelihood fade with my parents’ ability to work taught me two things early on: the fragility of financial security and the power of entrepreneurship.
At 13, I started my first business — a small driveway car wash. By 16, it had grown into a mobile car wash serving my neighborhood. I went on to attend Florida A&M University, earning my degree in Electrical Engineering. While in college, I repaired and sold used and abandoned cars, averaging about $1,000 profit per sale — enough to support myself through graduation.
After college, I entered corporate America, but within two years, I realized my calling was to build something of my own. My wife and I moved into my mother-in-law’s attic in Charleston, South Carolina, and flipped our first home in 2012 — earning a $110,000 profit. I was 24 years old, with no credit history and no outside funding, but I had a vision.
Through creative financing and private equity partnerships, I built a real estate business that has since completed over 40 residential and multifamily projects across cities like Charleston, Cincinnati, and South Florida. From restoring historic row houses to building new construction, each project deepened my understanding that true development isn’t just about property — it’s about people.
After years of joint ventures and partnerships, I realized my passion lies in community-focused development — creating housing that builds wealth rather than displaces it. Affordable housing should be accessible housing, and sustainability starts with homeownership and education.
That belief — that “I am because you are” — is what continues to guide NTU Development today.
